Who we work with, and why — the communities at the centre of every programme we design.

Who we serve

Seven groups. One shared goal.

Women and children sit at the centre of nearly every programme we run — from SHG formation and income support to child protection, nutrition, and early learning. A significant share of our part-time field staff are women from the communities we serve.

Scheduled Caste communities face layered discrimination in access to land, livelihoods, and justice. Our legal empowerment and rights-awareness work specifically addresses SC protections under the Prevention of Atrocities Act and access to welfare entitlements.

Tribal communities in Jharkhand — including those in Hazaribagh, Chatra, and Giridih — are central to our forest rights, livelihood, and NRM work. We support FRA claim-filing and work through networks like JVAM on forest and land rights.

Minority and Other Backward Class communities benefit from our social empowerment programmes, particularly rights awareness campaigns, entitlement linkage, and participation in networks such as FORCES and NACDOR.

Young people are prioritised in skill and enterprise development programmes (NABARD, SIDBI), anti-child-labour work (CACL), and educational support — with a particular focus on first-generation learners and dropouts re-entering education.

Small and marginal farmers in Hazaribagh, Chatra, and Giridih benefit from NRM training, climate-resilient agriculture practices, and market linkage support — reducing dependence on exploitative informal buyers and seasonal migration.

Below Poverty Line families are the primary beneficiaries of our relief partnerships (Goonj), health camps, WASH programmes, and government entitlement linkage — including PMJAY, PM Awas Yojana, and food security schemes.
